Did a minnow run at Karibou Estuary with SSS Chum x1, x2, and x3

I was very disappointed with SSS Chum x 3

SSS Chum x 1
    22/50 - 44% - Summer Flounder
    08/50 - 16% - Milkfish
    04/50 - 08% - Skygagger
    04/50 - 08% - Tricolor Sharkminnow
    04/50 - 08% - Channel Catfish
    03/50 - 06% - Emperor Tetra
    02/50 - 04% - Bat Ray
    02/50 - 04% - Sixbar Distichodus
    01/50 - 02% - Bull Shark

SSS Chum x 2
    18/55 - 32.73% - Summer Flounder
    10/55 - 18.18% - Emperor Tetra
    09/55 - 16.36% - Milkfish
    06/55 - 10.91% - Channel Catfish
    03/55 - 05.45% - African Snakehead
    02/55 - 03.64% - Bat Ray
    02/55 - 03.64% - Sixbar Distichodus
    02/55 - 03.64% - Red Piranha
    01/55 - 01.82% - Skygagger
    01/55 - 01.82% - Tricolor Sharkminnow
    01/55 - 01.82% - Bull Shark

SSS Chum x 3
    32/60 - 53.33% - Summer Flounder <- Don't want!!!
    10/60 - 16.67% - Milkfish
    03/60 - 05.00% - Skygagger
    03/60 - 05.00% - Bat Ray
    03/60 - 05.00% - Red Piranha
    03/60 - 05.00% - African Snakehead
    02/60 - 03.33% - Sixbar Distichodus
    02/60 - 03.33% - Emperor Tetra
    02/60 - 03.33% - Channel Catfish

x2 was perfect while x3 was just useless. What do you think?

I think it is going to depend on what site you are fishing at. I have had good luck with multiple chums at sites that have multiple star fish that bite on the same bait. (Secret Garden, Windy, Manglo, and Kalde) (not much luck at Deep Blue for some reason even though Grouper and Ray both take minnows)

I think its more which chum you stack at which site like eichen wrote depending on the fishes. For example i often fish at red lotus pond stacking 3x a-chum and using crank. And i having really great results with it by catching quite often the real big ones in it. But everytime i tried it with 3x s-chum the bite rate of the big ones seem to drop and i catch more often the average fishes. Of course there are always some fishes who appear very often equal if you use different chums or even dont like the gosh or the tiliapia or how every their name is.

Everytime i fish at Karibou the summer flounder & the milkfish are the fishes who doesnt care about using chum or not. They are just the fishes which bite the most.

And wapipi has such kind of fishes too. I think we all know which one is the most annoying fish at wapipi. And it doesnt give a fuck about chumming too.

Btw there is a guy in our forum that i personally call the chum bible. Its the hall of famer timo200a. No joke he does know exactly how to stack chums to get a fish or to make the most points at the point comps daily. Without his advices day by day i couldnt even reach the top 10

Well my issue is not with chum rank but that x2 and x3 seems to have drastically different effect, with x3 being significantly worse, especially since its a SSS chum.

I don't see any pattern as to how they affect bite rates, especially with the results I posted as x3 is worse than x2.

You'd have to try all ranks of chums, at all multipliers, with all type of baits, at all fishing sites, AND with large sample rates.

B, A, S, SS, SSS = 5 ranks
x1, x2, x3 = 3 multipliers

5 x 3 = 15 chum types, + 1 no chum so 16

Crank, Minnow, Spinner, Worm, Shrimp, Paste, Earthworm, Bug = 8 baits
# of fishing sites = 23
Decent Sample Size = 100

16 x 8 x 23 x 100 = 294,400 fishes you have to catch to make a complete guide.

Way too much work, screw that lol

Baity i have another question, did you noticed any changes to the size of fishes you caught? I mean did you landed more often in daily best ranking with it? As i know from toff he use the sss stacking for size comps and he achieved quite often a good ranking with it. Maybe the sss-chums could he good for achieving bigger sizes? You can speak korean, so maybe GV translated the chum description wrong into english? Just some things i asked myself after thinking about the more chum is better? Topic

lol I don't see speak Korean. I just typed out the description and translated it on the internet.

As for toff, he's got massive luck stats on his character so it's kind of hard to say. I'll try recording sizes next time I use SSS chums and see what happens.

SSS Chum description:

Direct translation from Google:

Maximum probability of a large and powerful fish to bite increases.
When used in a fishing spot 30 minutes applies to all local maps.

I often got my biggest catch without using any chum, and while I still believe chum can gives biggest catch, it's pretty much luck-based and as with any other part of the game, random.

Heard from some players doing size comp that they often got their biggest (and sometime the champ) using 3x SSS-chum, while I also heard one or two players with luck below 180 with Master Bait can win with only 3x S-chum or even 1x S-chum. So I think there are no exact theory on how chum works except it can lure powerful fish or gives us a big-sized fish but we wouldn't know for sure how they works.

From my experience, SS-chum is the worst. It's like B-chum. Hardly can hooked up a Monster/Rare fish or big size fish with it. SSS chum, on the other hand, is like a Monster Fish-magnet. They are drawn by it. You will hook at least one Monster Fish using SSS chum. That I know for sure.

I always thought that the chums basicly added to your luck stat for whatever fish page you used it on. The better the chums the more luck it adds. I really think that your luck stat has a lot to do with hooking Monsters. When I was low luck I never hooked them even when throwing chums but now that I have high luck stats I hook them quite often, even when not throwing any chum. With chum it is guaranteed that I will hook them.
